Maracanaú, once a small town a few miles away from Fortaleza, grew tremendously in the last few years when a number of companies started building factories and warehouses in the area. There you'll be able to visit the Cachaça Museum. According to the claims of the museum's brochure, this is where the very first bottles of cachaça in Brazil were distilled in 1846.
